What is a DNO, and how do I find out who my DNO is?

A DNO, or Distribution Network Operator, is a company that owns and operates the infrastructure that delivers electricity to homes and businesses in specific areas of Great Britain:  

Responsibilities 

DNOs are responsible for:  

Owning, operating, and maintaining the electricity infrastructure, including cables, pylons, and substations  

Rectifying power cuts and faults  

Adopting new cables or substations to their network if a new supply is installed  

Checking and upgrading supplies for home chargers to ensure they work safely and efficiently
